How to Bundle and Sell 3D Model Sets on Printara
Selling 3D models one at a time leaves money on the table. A buyer who wants a whole adventuring party, or a table with four matching chairs, does not want to hunt down and buy six separate listings. With Bundle Minis in Printara Studio you can now select several models, open them together in one scene, scale the whole set in a single step, and sell them as one product. Here is exactly how it works.
The problem with selling models one at a time
Single-model listings are fine for a hero piece. But most of what makers actually print comes in groups: a squad of minis, a set of dice towers, a matching desk set. When each piece is its own listing, three bad things happen.
- Lower order value. A customer buys one mini for a few dollars and leaves. They never see that the same goblin comes in five poses.
- More work for you. Every model means another listing to write, photograph, price and maintain. Ten minis is ten times the admin.
- A worse buyer experience. Scale is inconsistent across separate files, and the customer has to assemble their own set by hand instead of getting a curated pack.
Bundling fixes all three at once. More value per order, one listing instead of ten, and a clean set the buyer can print straight away.
What a bundle actually is
A bundle is several of your models packaged as a single sellable product. In Printara, the models still live in your Library as normal, but the bundle records which ones belong together, how they are arranged, and what scale they print at. The buyer sees one listing and gets one download with the entire set inside. You manage one product instead of a pile of loose files.
How to create a bundle in Studio, step by step
- Open your Library. Go to Studio and find the models you want to package. These can be AI-generated models, uploads, or a mix.
- Select the models. Each Library card has a small checkbox in the corner. Tick every model you want in the set. There is no fixed limit on theme, so a goblin warband and a treasure chest can ride together.
- Click "Open together". All selected models load into one shared 3D scene, so you can see the whole set at a glance and position pieces relative to each other.
- Bulk-scale the set. Use the scale presets to size everything in one move: Each keeps every model at its own native size, 32mm and 75mm rescale the entire set to the two most common tabletop heights, and custom mm lets you type an exact target. One choice applies to all the models, so your squad stays consistent.
- Click "Create Bundle". Studio saves the set as a single product with its layout and scale baked in. From there you publish it like any other listing and sell it as one item. Selling on the Printara marketplace needs a paid creator plan; see pricing.
That is the whole flow: select, open together, scale, Create Bundle. No exporting each model by hand, no zipping files yourself, no juggling separate listings.
Best things to bundle
D&D and tabletop miniature sets
This is the obvious winner. Tabletop players almost never want one mini, they want an encounter: a goblin warband, an adventuring party, a set of bosses for a campaign. Generate the variations, open them together, set the whole pack to 32mm so every figure matches at the table, and sell it as one warband pack. The buyer prints a ready-to-play set, and your order value jumps from one mini to a full squad.
Matching furniture and decor sets
A table is fine. A table with four chairs is a sale. Furniture and decor sell as sets because people want a coordinated look. A useful trick here: generate furniture from images without textures. An untextured table and chair set is a cleaner, lower-poly print that slices faster and uses less filament, which is exactly what you want for functional prints where surface detail is not the point. Open the pieces together, scale them to the same dollhouse or tabletop ratio, and bundle the room.
Product variations
If you sell a useful part, offer the family. A phone stand in three angles, a planter in small, medium and large, a desk organizer with two tray layouts. Bundling the variations gives the buyer the complete option set in one purchase and saves you from maintaining three near-identical listings.
Pricing and value tips
- Price the set, not the sum. A bundle should cost less than buying each piece alone but more than any single model. The discount is the reason to buy the whole pack instead of one item.
- Lead with the count. "10-mini goblin warband" or "5-piece dining set" in the title tells the buyer the value instantly and helps your listing get found.
- Keep a clear theme. A tight, coherent set ("undead horde", "kitchen set") converts better than a random grab bag. The curation is part of what they are paying for.
- Match scale before you sell. Use a single preset so the whole bundle prints consistently. A set that arrives at mismatched sizes feels broken, even if every model is good.
- Check the license of every piece. Only bundle models you have the rights to sell. Our guide to free STL files and their licenses explains the traps.
Big pieces in a set
Terrain, statues and display pieces are often bigger than a buyer's print bed. Ship them pre-split with joints that line up, and buyers print the set without extra work. The Printara STL Splitter cuts a model into keyed parts and writes an assembly guide, and our guides show the same job in Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer and Cura.
FAQ
What is a 3D model bundle on Printara?
It is several of your models sold together as one product. You select multiple models in your Library, open them together in Studio, arrange and scale them, and click Create Bundle. The set becomes a single listing, and buyers get one download with every model in it.
How do I scale every model in a bundle to the same size?
After you open your models together, use the bulk-scale presets. Each keeps every model at its own original size, while 32mm and 75mm rescale the whole set to common miniature heights. You can also enter a custom millimeter value. One choice applies to the entire set.
Do buyers get one file or many?
One purchase, one download, the whole set inside. The buyer does not buy each model separately, and you do not manage a separate listing for every piece.
Can I bundle models I generated without textures?
Yes, and for furniture or functional sets it is often the better choice. Untextured prints slice faster and use less filament. Generate the pieces from images without textures, open them together, scale the set and bundle it.
