Open the Studio, drop a photo into the upload zone (or paste a text prompt), and click Generate. The AI returns a textured 3D model in roughly one minute. You can then preview it in the viewer, hollow it for printing, or publish it to the marketplace.
No. Registration is free and gives you 50 starter credits — enough for one full AI generation. You only need a card if you upgrade to a paid plan or buy a credit pack.
For AI generation: JPG, PNG, or WebP images (one photo for image-to-3D, four for multi-view). For the Studio editor you can also import existing meshes in STL, GLB, OBJ, and 3MF formats. Single uploads under ~25 MB work best.
A standard image-to-3D generation takes about 1–3 minutes. Multi-view (4 photos) and segmentation can take 5–8 minutes because they run multiple AI passes. You can keep working in the Studio while the queue runs in the background.
Credits are Printara's universal usage unit. A standard AI generation costs 30 credits, multi-view costs 10 credits per view, and AI marketing photos and other actions have their own fixed cost shown next to each button. Subscriptions include a monthly credit allowance, and you can top up at any time from the Studio.
Yes — you own the models you generate from your own inputs and may use them personally and commercially, including selling on the Printara marketplace or external platforms. Make sure your input photos do not infringe third-party copyrights or trademarks. Full details are in the Terms of Service.
Generated models live in your Studio library and your Creator Dashboard. Models you purchased or downloaded from the marketplace appear in My Library, and physical orders are tracked under My Orders.
Basic generates a clean white mesh — best when you only plan to 3D print the model in resin or PLA. Textured adds full PBR materials and colors so the model looks photorealistic in renders and previews. Textured costs slightly more credits because it runs an extra texturing pass; turning textures off saves credits.
Multi-view takes up to four reference photos (typically front, back, left, right) and fuses them into a single 3D model. It produces dramatically more accurate geometry than single-image generation, especially for asymmetric subjects, busts, and miniatures. Each view costs 10 credits.
Enhanced Mode runs your reference image through an AI image model (Seedream 5.0 or Gemini) to clean up backgrounds, normalize lighting, and improve prompt adherence — all of which makes the resulting 3D model sharper and more accurate. You can also generate auto multi-view sets from a single enhanced photo.
Yes. The browser Studio lets you rotate, scale, hollow the model, place drain holes, generate SLA supports, split it into parts via segmentation, and export to STL/GLB/OBJ/3MF. For sculptural edits beyond that you can download the file and refine it in Blender or ZBrush.
Segmentation uses AI to split your model into separate semantic parts (head, arms, base, etc.) so you can print them in different colors/materials, swap pieces, or refine individual segments. It's especially useful for AMS-equipped multi-color FDM printers. You can also paint custom segment boundaries with the brush tool.
After your model is generated, click Generate Photo in the Studio to produce a photorealistic product shot using Nano Banana 2 (Gemini's image model). You can pick styles like Studio, Lifestyle, Painted, or "Ref Paint" which uses your original reference photo's colors. These photos are designed for marketplace listings.
Hollowing replaces solid interiors with a thin shell, which can save 60–80% of resin per print. Printara's AI also analyzes the model and places drain holes at the correct positions so trapped resin can escape during printing. You can adjust wall thickness from the Hollow panel.
Open Marketplace, click any model to view details, then choose Digital Download to get the files instantly, or Print & Ship to have a partner produce and mail a physical copy. Checkout is handled by Stripe.
A digital download gives you the STL/GLB files immediately so you can print them yourself. A print order is fulfilled by a verified Printara partner who prints (and optionally paints) the model in the material you choose, then ships it to you.
Yes. On the model page, pick Print + Paint, choose a tier (tabletop, display, or competition), and Printara's AI Concierge will match you with a printer and a painter near your region. You'll see both prices upfront before paying.
The Concierge ranks partners by location (shipping speed and cost), price, average review rating, and current capacity. You can also browse partners manually from the Partners page if you'd rather choose yourself.
Go to My Orders for real-time status updates and shipping info. The notification bell at the top of the page also pushes live updates whenever the seller marks a step complete or sends you a message.
Use the Report link on the listing page, or email support@printara.co with the listing URL and a brief description. We review reports for IP infringement, illegal content, or quality fraud and take action quickly.
Because digital files can't be returned, downloads are generally non-refundable once accessed. If a file is broken, mislabeled, or unprintable, contact support within 14 days and we'll arrange a replacement or refund. Full policy is on the Returns & Complaints page.
Open Become a Partner, fill in your shop name and details, and connect a Stripe account so we can pay you. Once approved, the Sell tab unlocks in the Studio so you can publish any generated or imported model.
Print Partners physically 3D-print orders for buyers (SLA resin, FDM PLA/ABS/PETG, etc). Paint Partners hand-paint miniatures at tabletop, display, or competition tiers. Both apply via Become a Partner, set their pricing and turnaround, then receive matched orders automatically through the AI Concierge.
Printara uses Stripe Connect for payouts. After you connect your account in the dashboard, payouts are sent automatically to your bank when an order is marked complete — no invoicing or manual admin. Stripe handles tax forms (1099/EU equivalents) where required.
Marketplace fees are 12% on the Free seller plan, 10% on Pro Seller (€19/mo), and 8.5% on Scale Seller (€49/mo). The fee covers payments, hosting, customer support, and order infrastructure. Stripe also charges a small standard payment-processing fee. Creators earn 3% royalties any time someone prints their published design.
In the Studio's Sell tab, connect each external platform once via OAuth. Then for any model you can toggle Etsy / Cults3D / MyMiniFactory on, and Printara auto-creates the listing — title, description, AI marketing photos, files, and tags — with a single click. Auto-posting to Etsy + Cults3D is included on the Pro plan.
Yes. Open the listing in your Creator Dashboard and you can update title, price, description, photos, and files at any time, or toggle the listing offline without deleting it.
You can start listing immediately, but Stripe requires identity verification before they release your first payout (this is a legal anti-fraud requirement). The Creator Dashboard shows a checklist of any missing Stripe info.
Plus (€19/mo) includes 750 credits, AI marketing photos, AI hollowing, AI SLA supports, all export formats, and priority generation. Pro (€39/mo) includes 3000 credits, multi-view generation, auto-posting to Etsy + Cults3D, advanced analytics, and priority support. Full breakdown is on the Pricing page.
You can buy a one-off 300-credit pack (10 generations) at any time from the credit pill in the Studio header — no subscription required. Pack credits are added on top of your monthly allowance and don't expire as quickly as monthly credits.
Monthly subscription credits reset on your renewal date — they don't roll over. Top-up pack credits stay in your account until used, so heavy users often combine a subscription with the occasional pack.
Yes, anytime — there are no contracts. Cancel from Account Settings and you'll keep access (and any remaining credits for that period) until the end of the billing cycle. After that you drop to the free plan automatically.
Open Settings → Billing to see your full credit ledger. If a generation failed but credits were still spent, email support@printara.co with the timestamp and we'll refund them. We aim to credit failed generations automatically within minutes.
All subscription pricing is shown in EUR; Stripe handles automatic currency conversion at checkout if your card is in another currency. EU customers receive a VAT-compliant invoice automatically. You can download invoices from Settings → Billing.
Subscriptions are billed monthly and generally non-refundable once the period starts, since credits are consumable. If you're unhappy, email support within 7 days of payment and we'll review case-by-case.
The viewer needs WebGL2. First try a hard refresh (
Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) to clear cached assets. If it still fails, switch to a modern Chrome / Edge / Firefox build, make sure hardware acceleration is enabled in your browser, and disable aggressive privacy extensions that block WebGL.
Most upload errors come from oversized files. Try keeping single uploads under ~25 MB and use STL, GLB, OBJ, or 3MF. Photos for AI generation should be JPG/PNG/WebP under ~10 MB. If it still fails, check your network and try again — Printara automatically retries failed uploads twice.
Performance depends on your GPU and the polygon count of the model. Close other heavy tabs, lower the viewport quality with the Settings gear in the viewer, and prefer Chrome or Edge on a discrete GPU. Models above 1M polygons can be slow on integrated graphics.
Make sure pop-ups aren't blocked for printara.co — checkout opens in a hosted Stripe page. If your card is declined, try another card or a different browser; some banks reject cross-border test transactions. If the issue persists, screenshot the error and email support.
For SLA/FDM slicers (PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, Lychee, Chitubox) use STL or 3MF. Use GLB for AR/web previews and OBJ for further editing in Blender/ZBrush. Printara auto-converts Y-up to Z-up so files import directly into slicers.
Your browser is probably serving cached JavaScript from a previous version. Do a hard refresh (
Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R) or open the page in a private window to bypass cache.
